The “1st National Pregnancy and Nutrition Congress,” organized by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics on December 5-6, 2025, was successfully held with the intense participation of expert academics, researchers, and the general public. Prof. Dr. Yasemin AKDEVELİOĞLU served as co-chair of the congress, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Yassıbaş, Dr. Lecturer Sabriye Arslan, and Research Assistant Ayşe Derya Bayazıt contributed significantly to the scientific and administrative preparations of the event by serving on the organizing committee.

The congress addressed the roles of nutrition during pregnancy in maternal health, fetal development, and long-term health outcomes, from the perspective of different pregnancy disciplines. Current research results were shared, and extensive discussions were held on clinical applications, shedding light on future applications. Our department strengthened its academic and societal contribution with this congress, which aimed to disseminate information on reproductive and fetal development at the national level.
