Anthropometry Laboratory

In the Anthropometry Laboratory, one of the laboratories of Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, various applications are made in order to understand the methods used in determining the nutritional status of different age groups. In accordance with its method; circumference and diameter measurements, skinfold thickness measurements, taking, evaluating and applying muscle strength measurements are gained. Applications are made on the use of advanced devices with different features and measurement methods used in the evaluation of body composition. To determine the energy expenditure of the individual; basal metabolic rate, energy expenditure of exercise, daily energy expenditure measurements and evaluation of lifestyle are made with appropriate devices and methods. This laboratory is used for postgraduate education, thesis and scientific research projects. The devices and instruments in the laboratory are updated and increased in parallel with scientific innovations. The computer laboratory of our faculty is used for programs and applications used in determination of nutritional status.
